Cedar is naturally weather-resistant, with a warm pinkish-gold color; it is natural, safe and soft underfoot. Brown pressure-treated lumber is stained a cedar-like brown, looking better and more environmentally friendly than regular PT. Traditional pressure-treated lumber has been the most popular deck material for decades: affordable, reliable and available from any lumber supplier.
