The customer loved the original deck shape and size, but it had aged and needed a replacement.
We followed the original deck dimensions but upgraded the pergola to a louver style, providing ample shade while still allowing plenty of natural light.
For their grand children’s safety concern, customer insist to install railings around the deck, but for my personal idea, I would more prefer the open deck concept
